Scott was voted in unanimously as the new Pastor of FBC Pearl in August of 2012.  Scott grew up in the Pearl area having attended the Pearl Schools from grades one through twelve.  After graduating from Pearl High School in 1980 he went on to receive degrees from Hinds Community College, Mississippi State University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  The Lord called him to leave Mississippi upon graduating Seminary in 1990.

He has served as Baptist Campus Minister at the University of Las Vegas in Nevada while also pastoring Southwest Baptist Church in Las Vegas for four years.  He then moved on to serve as Minister of Education at Longview First Baptist Church in Southwest Washington.  From there  he has pastored two other Churches in the Tacoma, Washington area before moving back here to Pearl.  He and his wife, Melissa, served in the Seattle/Tacoma area for 14 years.  The Lord called them to move here to Pearl after Scott's dad suffered a serious stroke in early 2011.  They moved back here to be closer to Scott's family, particularly his parents.  Scott's oldest brother passed away on June 19, 2015 and his dad passed away October 6, 2015.

Scott and his wife, Melissa, met in the Summer of 1986 in Hawaii when Scott was serving as a Baptist Student Union Summer Missionary.  Melissa went back to California at the end of that Summer and Scott came back to Mississippi.  They stayed in touch over the years until the Lord brought them together in Las Vegas where they got married.  They have been married for 24 years.  They have three children.  Caleb is a Barista at Cups Coffee Restaurant in Fondren.  He also plays guitar and sings at small venues such as coffe shops and weddings.  Emily will be graduating from William Carey University in 2017.  She will then attend University of Mississippi Medical Center in school of Nursing.   Abbey is a Junior at Park Place Christian Academy.  Her plan is to attend the University of Southern Mississippi beginning in the Fall of 2017 to study Nursing.

Scott's favorite football teams are the Seattle Seahawks and the Mississippi State Bulldogs!.  Scott enjoys listening to music, attending live performances of plays and musicals, playing guitar, watching football games, collecting DC and Marvel Characters.  Scott enjoys exercising, fishing, golfing, working in the yard, watching movies and spending time with family.

Children's Minister

Tiffany Olexy

I am married to Jeremy Olexy and we have 2 beautiful daughters, Morgan and Constance.  We have been Pearl residents for over 15 years.  I am an active member of the community with being President of Friends of the Library, on the board of Keep Pearl Beautiful, on 2 PTSO boards and a Girl Scout troop leader.

I have been the Children's Minister for a short time at First Baptist Pearl.  I jumped in head first with the Vacaton Bible School.   We have been going strong ever since.  I have witnessed many children begin to grow more and more in Christ.  It brings joy to my heart when I have the honor to witness these children experience Jesus' love for the first time.

We here at First Baptist Pearl have a desire to have our children learn the Word of God through play, song, crafts, Bible verses and stories and begin to hide it in their hearts.  We have a vision for these children to learn to love Jesus at a young age and learn to carry this with them as they grow into young adults.

I look forward to meeting new children and families in our church as we grow together to change lives and open hearts.  Be blessed!
